Short answers to what people ask while writing: where the draft is kept, how to change the look without retyping, and what to check before downloading.
As a guest, every change is saved automatically in this browser on this device, along with your design settings. You can close the tab and continue later in the same browser. It will not appear on another device, and clearing your browser's site data deletes it. Download a PDF when you finish, or use Save Resume to create a free account: your guest draft and design settings are moved into the new account.
Your content is stored separately from the template, so switching templates keeps every word. Open the Customize tab to change the accent color, font, font size and line spacing, to choose the layout, and to turn section icons, contact icons and the profile photo on or off. The preview updates as you change them.
Besides the summary, experience, education and skills sections, you can add Projects, Certificates, Languages and a Custom section for anything else, such as volunteering or publications. Sections can be reordered by dragging, and skills and languages suggest matches as you type.
You can upload a profile photo (up to 5 MB). In the US, UK and Canada, photos on a resume are usually left out, and the editor warns that they may affect how applicant tracking software reads the page. Include one only if employers in your country expect it.
Need help with the writing itself? These guides cover it: summary examples, action verbs for bullet points, which skills to list and the ATS resume guide. You can also check a finished resume with the free ATS checker.
